Adding an iPhone Kindle Widget

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

Cute iPhone screens with widgets are all the rage now and I had to make a widget for my Kindle app (would also work with any other app that doesn't have a built in widget)

Here is how to add a Kindle widget to your iPhone.

  • Pull down on your home screen

  • Type in Shortcuts

  • Hit the + in the top right

  • Add Action

  • Scripting

  • Open App

  • Click Choose

  • Type in "Kindle" and select

  • Next

  • Name the Shortcut

  • Hit the symbol (on the left)

  • You can change the color and glyph

  • Done

  • Done again

  • Back to the home screen

  • Press and hold an app until they wiggle

  • Hit the + in the top left

  • Type Shortcuts in the search bar

  • Choose the Kindle widget

  • Move and rearrange

  • Click so they stop wiggling

  • Click the widget and it will open the Kindle app!

Hope that helps! Any other tutorials you want?
