Nancy Drew #18, Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion- Review

Updated: Oct 5, 2021

Overall I really liked this one. Which is wild because the implausibility of it all is through the roof. George and Bess have an unnecessary car crash, Mr. Drew is on a plane in which the landing gear fails so there is a perilous landing, bombs are delivered inside of oranges to NASA, there is a camera that sprays pepper spray, the villain has a room with a boiling pool, and more! But we get Hannah joining the gang on this out of town adventures (even though she ends up still having to keep house), and Ned and Nancy get to spend more time together (even though there is a weird dichotomy between Ned being chivalrous and Nancy being independent).

My thought process during this one was that if this book were revised today, it would need to lose half of the action or be 200 pages longer to explain it all.

In total though, a fun read!

If you want to join in a Nancy Drew Book-club, I run the #NancyDrewBookCrew over on my Instagram where we are reading all the books in order.
