This story will leave you feeling all the warm fuzzies. At the core of this book is the theme of loving people for who they are rather than who you want them to be.
Sila loves her mom even though she had to go back to Turkey to work out an immigration issue. Sila loves Gino not because he is a lottery winner, but because he is a man full of kindness. Sila comes to love Mateo as a friend because she learns to appreciate who he is instead of who she wants him to be.
And those are just three examples! This story has an elephant and a couple other animal cameos and is a story about finding hope when all seems hopeless.
