This was the pick for our postal book club by @kacy_elise and I'm sad to say, it was just okay for me. I know many people love this book, but I just could not connect with it. I read @read.fine.print's review and she calls it a bit heavy handed and that struck a chord with me. That's exactly it. It was trying to elicit emotions out of me. The writing is beautiful, and the story is compelling, but the messages it was trying to send felt a bit forced.
